Presentation Support

Audience response enhances any presentation with the ability to instantly find what the participants are thinking. ARS shows participants how their opinions compare with their peers in a non-threatening, anonymous format.

Ask ARS questions before a presentation to find out about the audience’s knowledge level or opinions on the topic to be discussed. Next, pose questions during the presentation to keep them involved and show you value their opinions and feedback. Finally, poll for responses after the presentation to learn exactly how the message was received.

ARS software uses demographic questions to analyze polled responses by audience sub-group. All response data is captured, and can be viewed, printed or exported to Microsoft Office modules for further analysis and manipulation.

Opinion Polls and Surveys

Change is inevitable, and feedback from employees and customers is a key factor in developing plans for future change. ARS provides quick and easy methods to collect opinions and survey results from your employees and customers.

Group-paced surveys let your gather opinion information any time you hold a meeting or other audience event. Any of ARS’ line of polling systems and software can be used to conduct group-paced polls and survey. By including demographic questions in your polling, you can also display and report the data in an even more meaningful method to learn how different sub-groups of your audience compare and contrast in their opinions.

Self-paced surveys can be administered using ARS Pro software with PushOne ™ browser-based polling on tablets, smartphones and notebook computers. These surveys can include a wide variety of question types beyond simple multiple-choice polling. Respondents can individually navigate through the questionnaire, answering and reviewing questions at their own pace. Response data is tallied and can be displayed and reported at any time during the polling process.

Training and Testing

Audience response can be used to enhance both the trainer’s and trainee’s experience in the class. From the trainer’s perspective, it allows them to instantly assess knowledge level, or opinions, on the topic being discussed for the day. From the trainee’s perspective, it allows them to instantly see, in a non-threatening format, their knowledge level on the subject matter in comparison to their peers. This format will many times give students the confidence to question the instructor on the subject.

The system provides a method to quickly test and instantly evaluate the trainees’ knowledge level on your topic. Responses can be tracked by individual or can be anonymous with overall group feedback. Response data can be fed back to the group, or simply saved and tracked for later viewing and printout.

Test questions can be given different weights for scoring and can be assigned a topic or subject. This allows you to test participants on a variety of topics with the questions in a random order, but receive a report based on how the participants scored by topic. This can help you determine the areas where further instruction is needed.

For making learning fun, you can also divide your audience into teams to turn your testing into a fun, motivational game show style event. Graphics can be instantly produced to show the percentage of each team that answered the question correctly. This percentage becomes their score for the question. Scores are accumulated throughout the game in rounds or overall. Prizes can be awarded to the top scoring team and/or individuals.

Voting and Elections

Audience response is the perfect tool for gathering and tabulating votes from groups large or small. It saves hours of manual labor in comparison to other traditional methods of voting.

Polling and tabulation of standard votes in multiple-choice or Yes/No/Abstain formats can be done using ARS Pro software. ARS also offers more advanced voting services, including house-of-delegates and weighted partner voting using our specialized ARS ProVoter software package.

ARS voting services have been used by native American tribes, religious organizations, accounting partnerships and corporate executive committees, to name just a few. Whether your voting needs are straightforward or sophisticated, ARS has the tools, knowledge and experience to do the job.

Ethics and Compliance

ARS can be used to help explore moral principles and values that guide organizations, through surveys, quizzes, role play rating and more. Rules and policies that guide employee conduct can be complex and non-intuitive, and supporting learning and retention of information through use of ARS polling makes the process more efficient and effective than simple paper-and-pencil testing.

ARS can be useful in many phases of Ethics and Compliance, including:

  • Assisting in program oversight through measurement and data gathering
  • Testing comprehension of education and training programs
  • Administering surveys on program effectiveness

In these and other ways, use of ARS can contribute to an organization’s efforts to better prevent ethics and compliance violations that can damage its reputation and viability.

Management Decision Making and Strategic Planning

Audience response is an effective tool for decision making. It lets a group of decision makers develop corporate strategy, address key concerns and prioritize relevant issues. Prior to discussing issues, you can ask questions of the group anonymously to reveal true feelings about issues. Then let the results spark discussion on the topic. Demographic subgroup data can be displayed to reveal differences in opinions and further promote discussion.

Prioritizing issues with a group of people can be a real task. ARS has developed the Decision Builder add-on module for wInquiry to assist in prioritizing lists of important issues using sophisticated, yet easy to use, prioritization techniques. Results can be displayed in a variety of formats for analysis. Demographic data can be incorporated to further break down results for discussion and analysis. The Decision Builder module features ordinal rating and pair weighting polling processes, and includes comparative graphing and opportunity mapping of results
